I was born and raised in New York. From my earliest childhood, I loved painting and drawing. I can remember taking my first private art lesson as a child, where my private teacher placed me in front of a giant easel, and helped me paint a seascape. From then on, I studied at various art schools, earning my bachelors degree from the School of Visual Arts.
The artwork I create I consider my visual diary. I am fortunate to have the ability to capture a moment, a scene or an idea in paint or in a drawing. Since I mostly paint in plein air, which is outdoors, the importance of capturing something quickly becomes even more special. My goal is not just to copy something in front of me, but to capture the energy of that moment. It's like telling someone how beautiful a sunset is, but in my case, I can show them through my art.
